Penobscot Bay anchorages, Maine
11 places · Maine
The finest cruising ground on the US east coast: hundreds of granite and spruce islands between Rockland and Stonington. Camden and Rockland for provisioning, Pulpit Harbor and Perry Creek on North Haven, Seal Bay on Vinalhaven, the Merchant Row islands and McGlathery, Buck Harbor and Castine at the head of the bay. A 3 metre tide, frequent summer fog and lobster pots everywhere: anchor with plenty of scope and watch for buoys.
