Approach and anchoring

Make for the G 1 bell off the eastern tip of Southern Island in western Muscongus Bay, then run in on a deep and unobstructed fairway with 7 to 39 feet of water all the way to the village landing. Rental moorings fill much of the harbour, but boats anchoring can find good holding round the corner in Long Cove. Landings Marina and Journey's End Marina lie about 9.3 miles to the north-east.

Practical

The village landing has a 30-minute tie-up limit for the dinghy. A well-stocked general store stands a short walk from the water, and the boatyard handles haul-out up to 25 tons with full mechanical, rigging and electronics service.

Ashore

Tenants Harbor is a working lobstering village on Route 131, so expect diesel engines firing up before dawn. The general store and village shops sit within walking distance of the landing. Tenants Harbor Boatyard is owned by the Maine painter Jamie Wyeth.
