Guide
Approach and anchoring
The bottom is mud with good holding. Sheltered from NW round through W and S to SE, but open to the N and NE. The island has a pier and a field of courtesy moorings taken on a first-come basis, the deeper-water moorings reserved for larger boats. Castine town dock lies 9.2 nm to the NE.
Ashore
Warren Island State Park is reached only by boat, with no public ferry. Fresh drinking water is available at the pier and at the centre of the island. A perimeter trail runs through the spruce woods, and the park has twelve campsites and two Adirondack shelters, patrolled by rangers from late May to mid-September.
