Gulf of Ajaccio: Sanguinaires islands to Capo di Muro

14 places · Corsica

From the north, the way into the gulf is the Sanguinaires pass, between Pointe de la Parata and the first island, about 7 metres deep: in a swell keep to the middle, and south of the islands give the Tabernacle reef a wide berth. Ajaccio has two marinas, Tino Rossi below the citadel and Charles Ornano further north. The south shore runs a string of anchorages from Porticcio to the Cacalu cove under the Capo di Muro tower, with 360 Pietrosella council buoys on both sides of the Isolella peninsula. The gulf opens to the south-west, and a libeccio raises a short, steep sea.
