Calvi and its citadel, then the wildest coast of the island: the Scandola reserve, where any stop is forbidden, Girolata reachable only by sea with its buoys, the Gulf of Porto and its red granite inlets, Cargèse, Sagone and the Gulf of Ajaccio with the Sanguinaires islands. No shelter for 20 miles between Calvi and Girolata: leave in the morning, before the sea breeze.
