Guide
Approach and anchoring
Mixed bottom of sand, rock and algae patches; drop on a clear sand patch and dive to check the set. Holding is good set well back from the beach but poor close in, where boats drag over 15 knots, so lie back with plenty of chain. Shelter from S, SW, W and SE, exposed to N and NE. Keep clear of the shallow rocky plateau off the southern headland and of poorly charted rocks along one side of the cove.
Practical
No services. Porto-Vecchio is 5.6 NM N for all services, fuel and visitor berths. No road access to the cove itself. When this arm is crowded, Porto Novo West has more sand and swinging room.
Ashore
Undeveloped cove backed by maquis scrubland. Small pebble beach at the head. A marsh behind the beach holds ducks and the occasional flamingo. Mosquitoes can be a nuisance at anchor. Coastal path links to the Golfe de Santa Giulia 2 km north.
