Guide
Approach and anchoring
The channel into Belfast Harbour carries about 20 ft, with a regional tidal range near 10.5 ft. The sand bottom holds well, with shelter from north-west through north and west; the harbour is open to the south-east. Belfast Marina lies 0.6 NM to the north-west, Castine Town Dock 8.7 NM to the east.
Practical
Fresh water is available at the anchorage. Belfast Marina, 0.6 NM north-west, has berths, and Front Street Shipyard handles larger yachts and repairs. The town centre is a short walk from the waterfront for provisions.
Ashore
Belfast town, just above the waterfront, has shops, restaurants and a chandlery within walking distance. The harbour walk links the city landing to Steamboat Landing Park along the Passagassawakeag River.
