Approach and anchoring
Open approach from the central bay between Aquatic Park and the Embarcadero. Hail the harbour office on VHF 16, then working channel as directed. Office on +1 415 705 5436, weekdays 08:00 to 16:00.
Practical
300 wooden finger pontoon berths for boats from 36 to 60 ft, long-term, daily and overnight transient berthing. Shore power, fresh water, showers, heads, laundry, pumpout and shops on the pier. No fuel berth on site.
Ashore
Pier 39 shops and restaurants directly on the dockside. Fisherman's Wharf, Ghirardelli Square and the cable car turntable at Powell and Hyde within 1 km. Aquarium of the Bay on the pier itself.
Story
California sea lions began hauling out on K-Dock on the marina's west side in September 1989. The Marine Mammal Center runs a free public exhibit on the pier above the haul-out.
