- Type
- Harbour
Public marina on the north shore of San Francisco, in the Marina District, between Laguna Street and Baker Street in California.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
The harbour is split into East Harbor, also called Gashouse Cove, and West Harbor. Ongoing dredging clears sand infill from the basins and entrance channel.
Practical
727 berths across the two basins, including 15 end ties for guest vessels up to 50 feet LOA. Free pump-out stations and a commercial fuel berth. The West Harbor holds the harbour master's office and the Saint Francis and Golden Gate yacht clubs. Office on 415-831-6322.
History
Boats have been berthed in the original basin, now the West Harbor, since before the 1906 earthquake. The Marina District stands on fill laid for the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition; that ground liquefied during the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake.
