Approach and anchoring

Lies inside San Francisco Bay, entered from the central bay south of the Bay Bridge. The harbour sits behind a breakwater off the main shipping fairway. Strong ebb currents run in the bay, so plan the run with the tide; the entrance is straightforward in daylight.

Practical

Concrete pontoons with about 700 berths for boats from 26 to 125 feet, most fitted with water and shore power. A 640-foot guest dock takes visiting and charter vessels. Showers, heads and coin laundry for berth holders. SF Boatworks lies just south for haul-out and repair; The Marina at Pier 39 is two miles to the north-west.

Ashore

Oracle Park, home of the San Francisco Giants, stands right at the harbour edge. The Embarcadero promenade runs from the docks to the Ferry Building marketplace about a mile north. Downtown shops and transit are within walking distance.
