Approach and anchoring
Approach from the central bay through the dredged channel that follows the south side of Pier 50 and the China Basin, leaving the McCovey Cove breakwater to port. Limited berthing at the boatyard pontoons. Strong ebb currents in the bay outside; enter on slack water or with the flood.
Practical
Full-service yard with travel lift, hard standing, antifouling, electronics and engine work for sail and power, in operation since the 1950s. Chandlery on site. Limited monthly and short-stay berths. No transient fuel berth; nearest visitor pontoons and fuel at South Beach Harbor, 0.9 NM north.
