Approach and anchoring

Enter from the open approach south of Hupper Island, or use the back door north of the island past Raspberry Island, where a buoyed channel to the west carries only about 1.8 metres at low water. The harbour is well sheltered except for a south to south-westerly blow. Mind the lobster gear on the way in.

Practical

Mud bottom gives good holding. Fresh water is available ashore. Port Clyde is a fishing and lobstering village with a general store, eateries and the harbourmaster covering both Port Clyde and Tenants Harbor. Landings Marina lies 12.7 nautical miles to the north-east, Journey's End Marina 12.9 nautical miles in the same direction.

Ashore

The Monhegan Boat Line runs to Monhegan Island from the village dock. The Marshall Point Lighthouse and its keeper's house museum stand about 1 nautical mile from the harbour by road. A general store and seafood restaurants sit within walking distance of the town landing.
