Approach and anchoring
Enter past the Rockland Harbor Breakwater Light, which stands at the seaward end of the 4,364-foot granite breakwater built by the Army Corps of Engineers between 1880 and 1900. Anchorage lies behind the breakwater with shelter from easterly chop, over mud and sand with holding rated good.
Practical
Fresh water is available. The harbour has several mooring fields and full marina services close by: Landings Marina lies 0.2 nm to the north-west and Journey's End Marina 0.3 nm to the north. Town moorings are managed by the harbourmaster.
Ashore
Rockland town centre is within walking distance, with shops and provisioning along Main Street. The Farnsworth Art Museum, holding works by three generations of the Wyeth family, is in the town centre.
