Approach and anchoring
The harbour is reached from Nantucket Sound through a marked channel past Edgartown Light. Hail Edgartown Harbor on VHF channel 74 for a mooring assignment. The field is sheltered from most directions but open along the channel to the NW. The town owns roughly 100 visitor moorings, distributed by assignment with reservations through the harbourmaster or Dockwa.
Practical
Fresh water available. A harbourmaster launch services the moorings. Oak Bluffs lies 5.2 NM NW and Falmouth Town Marina 10.9 NM NW across the sound.
Ashore
Edgartown village is a short launch ride from the field, with shops and restaurants set among 19th-century whaling-captain houses. Edgartown Light stands at the harbour mouth. The Chappaquiddick ferry crosses the channel for the beaches on the far shore.
