Private members' club in Great Harbor at Woods Hole, on the south-west tip of Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Reached from Buzzards Bay or Vineyard Sound through the Woods Hole passage, a buoyed channel known as The Strait and Broadway. The tide runs hard through the passage and sets vessels eastward, so transit near slack water is advised, especially with a draught over 8 feet. VHF 69.
Practical
A few transient moorings, around 75 dollars per night, accommodating boats up to 65 feet. No launch service, but visitors may use the dinghy dock. Fresh water, heads and showers ashore.
History
The club was established in 1896 and incorporated the following year. From the mid-20th century many of its members came from the Woods Hole scientific community, several of them taking up racing and club administration.
