Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the Petite Passe between Giens peninsula and Porquerolles. The bottom mixes sand, rock and seagrass, so look for clear sand patches to drop the anchor and avoid the protected posidonia meadows. Shelter from N, NE, E, S and SE.
Practical
No facilities. Anchoring on posidonia is prohibited in the Parc national de Port-Cros core zone; stick to sand patches in 5 to 10 metres. Port de Porquerolles lies 1.3 NM east for water and provisions. Port Auguier is 1.7 NM north-west on the Giens peninsula.
Ashore
Porquerolles village and its beaches, Plage Notre-Dame and Plage d'Argent, are reachable by tender or on foot from the village pontoon. The island is part of the Parc national de Port-Cros, created in 1963.
