Practical
No services. Tender to the beach. Port Auguier at 0.6 nautical miles west, Port du Niel at 1.5 nautical miles west, both tiny fishermen harbours with very limited visitor capacity.
Ashore
Sentier du littoral from the cove links to Cap de l'Esterel and the Tour Fondue ferry terminal for Porquerolles at 2 km east. Salt marshes of Giens with flamingos on the west side of the peninsula at 3 km.
History
The Giens peninsula is a double tombolo, a rare geological formation where two parallel sand bars link a former island to the mainland. It frames the étang des Pesquiers salt pans.
