Guide

Approach and anchoring

Approach from the W through the Rade de Giens, between Giens peninsula and the Presqu'île de Giens. Maximum draught 1 m, strictly a shallow-draught harbour. Shelter from E winds behind the peninsula, full exposure to W and mistral gusts that funnel through the Rade. VHF 9.

Practical

109 berths, most allocated to residents, very limited visitor capacity. Water and electricity on pontoons. Small grocery and restaurants at La Madrague de Giens, around 1.8 nm NW, and at the Giens village on the ridge above the port.

Ashore

Giens peninsula salt marshes and pink flamingo observation area on the double tombolo, around 3 km. Ferry terminal to Porquerolles from La Tour Fondue on the SE tip of Giens, around 4 km by road. Sentier du littoral around Giens past the ruined Château de Giens on the summit.
