Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south into the baie de La Forêt, rounding the Beg-Meil point. Sand bottom, 130 moorings, shelter from W through NW. Exposed to the S and E. Penfoulic marina 1.8 NM north and Cap Coz 1.9 NM north as tidal alternatives inside the bay.
Ashore
Long sand beaches of Beg-Meil run along the point for 2 km. GR34 coastal path continues east towards Mousterlin and west into the bay of La Forêt. Fouesnant town centre and AOC cider producers at 5 km inland.
History
Marcel Proust stayed at Beg-Meil in September 1895 and drafted parts of Jean Santeuil there, a novel published posthumously in 1952.
