Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south-east in the Baie de la Forêt. Sand bottom on all the field. Shelter from E through S to W. Open to N and NE winds that push short chop across the bay. VHF 9 for the Port-la-Forêt harbour office 2 nm south-west.
Practical
Fifty buoys managed with Port-la-Forêt. No water or fuel on the spit. Bakery, grocery and two crêperies at the root of the spit within 400 metres. Full services at Port-la-Forêt marina, tender or on foot along the shore in 45 minutes.
Ashore
Sand beach on both sides of the spit, sheltered from one wind or the other depending on the day. GR34 runs along the dune and links Beg-Meil village at 4 km south and Concarneau walled town at 7 km north-east by the coast.
Story
Port-la-Forêt, 2 nm away, is one of the main offshore racing bases in France, home to the Pôle Finistère Course au Large.
