Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south up the Baie de La Forêt. No specific hazards in the cove itself, sand bottom shoaling regularly towards the shore. Good cover from NW through N and E to SE. Fully open to SW, where the prevailing wind sends a sea straight into the bay. Clear out for Port-La-Forêt or Concarneau if SW is forecast.
Practical
Holding on sand. No moorings, no services at the anchorage. Cap Coz beach is 1 NM west, Port-La-Forêt marina 1.2 NM NW with full facilities including fuel, water, power and boatyard.
Ashore
Cap Coz has a sheltered family beach and seafront restaurants, about 1 NM walk around the cove. The GR 34 coastal path runs along the bay and links Cap Coz to Beg-Meil. The village of La Forêt-Fouesnant and its 16th-century fortified church are 1.5 km inland from the marina.
