Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the N across the Petite Passe, with the mainland of the Giens peninsula behind. Sand bottom with good holding. Open from SE through SW, sheltered from the mistral by the island ridge. Anchoring is regulated inside the park: respect the no-anchor zones over Posidonia marked on the Bonne Ancre app and SHOM charts.
Practical
No services ashore in the cove. Porquerolles village harbour, 0.9 NM E, has water, a fuel berth, restaurants and the ferry to La Tour Fondue. Port Auguier on the mainland lies 1.9 NM NW.
Ashore
Walking and cycling paths cross the island from the cove. Fort de l'Alycastre, a coastal tower built in 1634 under Richelieu, is reached in about 15 minutes on foot along the coastal path east of the anchorage. Bicycle rental is available in Porquerolles village.
