Guide
Approach and anchoring
Very good holding in sand. Strong currents can make boats roll, even in light westerlies. Anchor near the beach to avoid the strongest current. A charted rock covers at high water and shows as a small islet at low water. In 2022 round-island RIB trips ran the inshore channel at about 25 kn. The bay can get busy by day, and day visitors leave in the evening. On a hot day in August 2022, about 16 boats lay at Shell, Belvoir and between them.
Ashore
Dinghies land easily on the white sand beach. There were a café and toilets at the beach in 2022. Herm is small, and its shops are within walking distance.
