Approach and anchoring

Ladies Bay lies within Grand Havre, with Rousse, L'Islet, Les Amarreurs and Chouet. Rousse, L'Islet and Les Amarreurs dry completely at springs. At neaps boats can go well in towards Les Amarreurs. The best anchoring is west of Les Amarreurs pier or in Ladies Bay. Chouet is tight. All moorings were private in 2024. On the flood, especially at springs, the stream turns anticlockwise round the bay. In 2025 a boat at 49°29.98'N 2°32.72'W lay without rolling in a light easterly.

Practical

From an anchorage in Ladies Bay, the dinghy row takes 12 minutes to the Rousse Point slipway and 6 minutes to the beach. Rousse has a pier and slipway. In 2024 kiosks at Rousse, L'Islet and Chouet sold snacks and drinks, with more food at Rousse. A small supermarket is a 2 km walk from Rousse or L'Islet beach, with a chip shop a little further.

Ashore

A short walk from Rousse reaches the main road, bus stops, the Puffin & Oyster restaurant and the Peninsula Hotel. From the Chouet slip, a short walk across the common and golf course leads to the golf club and The Beach House at Pembroke. It is closer to a café than a restaurant.
