Approach and anchoring
Approach from the lake with a clear line on the 14th century castle keep. Sand and rock bottom, drop anchor on sand clear of the swimming buoys marked in summer. Sheltered from SW through SE. Exposed to the bise from NE and to the vaudaire from the east.
Practical
No marina services at the anchorage. Small harbour of Yvoire holds a few visitor berths but is often full. Port de Nernier 1.8 NM W has additional berths with water and electricity.
Ashore
Yvoire is a member of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France, fortified in 1306 by Amédée V of Savoy. The Jardin des cinq sens, a recreated medieval garden, sits inside the old village walls. Ferry link by CGN steamer to Nyon on the Swiss shore. Wine country of the Chablais hills and AOC Crépy vineyards are 5 km inland.
