Approach and anchoring
Open approach from the lake, no tidal constraint. Entrance between two breakwaters marked by red and green lights. Watch for the bise, the cold north-easterly wind that raises short steep chop on the Petit Lac. Maximum draught 4 metres. Harbour VHF channel 9.
Practical
400 berths including visitor pontoons. Water and electricity on the quays. Fuel station at the port. Harbour office, sanitary block with showers. Village of Sciez 800 metres inland with bakery, grocery and restaurants.
Ashore
Château de Coudrée stands 0.3 nautical miles west of the port, a medieval keep on the lake shore with origins in the 13th century. Domaine de Guidou nature reserve is 1 km east along the shoreline path, a wetland area for migratory birds. Thonon-les-Bains is 10 km east by road.
