Anchorage at Bull Island in Hadley Harbour, at the eastern end of Naushon Island in the Elizabeth Islands, Massachusetts, on a mud bottom.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Bull Island sits between Nonamesset and Uncatena and separates the inner harbour from the outer one. Anchor on mud along the north side of the island or in the shallows north of Goats Neck. Free first-come moorings are laid in the inner harbour and fill early in season.
Practical
Holding is on mud, with shelter from N through E to S. Bull Island is the only land in Hadley Harbour open to visitors; the rest belongs to the Naushon Trust. Woods Hole, across the strait, has provisions and services but no fuel, and lies 1.5 miles to the north-east.
Ashore
Dinghies may land on Bull Island's shore or at the small float on its south side. A walking trail loops the rocky and sand perimeter in about half an hour, with views over Hadley Harbour from end to end.
