Approach and anchoring
Westport Harbour entrance lies between Horseneck Beach and Gooseberry Neck. The channel is narrow and winding with strong tidal flow; minimum 10 ft in the inlet, 12 to 14 ft once inside. Follow the buoyed channel up the East Branch about 1 nm to the club anchorage.
Practical
Showers and heads ashore, breakfast service in season. Transient space is limited and members have priority. Tripp's Marina at 0.1 nm W for fuel, repairs and a chandlery, Leach & Son Marina 0.3 nm NE.
Ashore
West Beach is a short walk from the club landing. Westport Point village, with its 19th-century captains' houses, sits across the river. Horseneck Beach State Reservation runs along the western side of the harbour mouth.
