Approach and anchoring
Through the Westport River inlet between Horseneck Beach and Gooseberry Neck, minimum 10 ft in the channel, 12 to 14 ft inside. Follow the buoyed approach about 1 nm up the East Branch to Westport Point. Strong tidal current on ebb and flood. VHF channel 9.
Practical
176 berths and 189 moorings, transient slips and moorings, petrol and diesel at the fuel berth, water, shore power, pump-out, repair workshops and a chandlery. F.L. Tripp & Sons has been operating since the late 1940s.
Ashore
Westport Point village within walking distance, with its 18th and 19th-century homes along Main Road. Restaurants and a small market in the village. Horseneck Beach 1.5 nm by water on the west side of the entrance.
