Guide
Approach and anchoring
Anchor on the west side of the channel over a mud bottom. The spot is open to the west and south-west and currents run hard on the ebb and flood near the St Marys River inlet, so a well-set anchor and ample scope matter. Tiger Point Marina lies about 0.5 nautical miles to the east.
Practical
Tiger Point Marina, just across the channel, is a full-service yard with a 50-ton travel lift, deep-water wet berths and long-term storage in steel hurricane cradles. It accepts transient boats and gives access to the ICW, Egans Creek and the Atlantic.
Ashore
Old Town Fernandina and the downtown waterfront are a short run away, with shops, restaurants and provisioning ashore.
