Anchorage off Amelia Island on the Florida ICW near Fernandina Beach, mud bottom.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Reached from the Atlantic ICW route just south of the Fernandina inlet. The channel runs close past the marina docks. Watch for shoaling and a confused channel at the junction with the Amelia River, and for strong currents near the railroad bridge at Kingsley Creek. Mud holds well.
Practical
Amelia Island Marina lies about 1 mile to the south-east, with fuel, a chandlery and a 50-ton boat hoist. Oyster Bay Yacht Club is 1.7 miles to the north-west. Both take dinghies for provisioning runs ashore.
