Approach and anchoring
Lies on the Atlantic ICW route in the lower Amelia River. Mud bottom with good holding, and shelter from all sectors thanks to the surrounding marsh and riverbanks. Watch the current on the ebb and flood, and the shoaling reported where the ICW channel meets the river.
Practical
Amelia Island Marina is 1.3 miles to the east, with fuel, a chandlery and a boat hoist. Oyster Bay Yacht Club is 1.6 miles to the north. Fernandina Beach town lies a short run up the river, with shops and provisions within walking distance of the waterfront.
