Anchorage in Trippe Creek off the Tred Avon River near Oxford, on Maryland's Eastern Shore, on a mud bottom.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Enter from the Tred Avon River, a tributary of the Choptank. The creek is wide and holds a number of boats with all-round shelter. The mud is soft and boats are known to drag, so set the anchor firmly and allow ample scope.
Practical
Open anchorage with no facilities on the creek. Safe Harbor Oxford lies 2.4 miles south-west and Campbell's Boatyards at Jack's Point 2.5 miles south-west, both with berths and yard services. The anchorage sits too far from Oxford for a short tender run into town.
