Approach and anchoring
Approach from the bay with the tide. Watch seagrass beds and rocky patches on the bottom when setting the hook: pick the clear sand. Strong tidal streams through the bay channels, plan with the current. Exposed to S and W quadrants. Port de l'Estey 1.2 NM S and Port du Pavillon 1.3 NM SE serve as refuges.
Practical
Forain anchorage, no services. Landing by tender on the beach at high water. Shops and restaurants in the Cap Ferret village a short walk inland.
Ashore
Cap Ferret village with oyster shacks and market at about 1 km from the beach. Dune du Pilat visible across the Banc d'Arguin sandbank on the opposite shore. Sentier du littoral runs along the peninsula from the beach.
