Approach and anchoring
Lake approach only, no tide. Drop on sand in 2 to 4 metres clear of the bathing line. Holding protected from N and NE, exposed to the westerlies that run the 12 km fetch across the lake and raise a short chop from early afternoon in summer.
Practical
No services at the beach. Port du Pavillon 0.8 NM SE for ramp and launching, Club de voile de Sanguinet 0.8 NM south for dinghy moorings and chandlery. Shops and restaurants of Sanguinet village within walking distance of the port.
Ashore
Plage des Aigrettes is a supervised freshwater beach in summer, backed by the pine forest of the Landes. Cycle path of the Vélodyssée runs along the lake shore towards Biscarrosse 10 km south. Musée du lac de Sanguinet in the village shows dugout canoes recovered from the lake dating from the Bronze Age to the Gallo-Roman period.
