Approach and anchoring
Reached via the Meuse canalised waterway, lock system between Charleville-Mézières and the Belgian border. Maximum draught about 1.8 m. The town quay is on the right bank in the southern loop of the meander.
Practical
Pontoon with water and electricity, capitainerie seasonal. Supermarkets, bakeries and railway station in the town centre within walking distance of the quay.
Ashore
Mont Malgré-Tout rises above the town at 466 m with a panoramic viewpoint over the meander. Waymarked forest walks in the Ardennes Forest regional natural park. The Voie Verte Trans-Ardennes cycle route follows the Meuse past the quay for 130 km between Givet and Mouzon.
History
Revin was a centre of metalworking and hardware factories from the nineteenth century onwards, part of the Vallée de la Meuse industrial belt. The town hall is set in the former Maison espagnole, a timber-framed building dated to 1634.
