History
Bogny-sur-Meuse was formed in 1967 by the merger of Braux, Levrezy and Chateau-Regnault. The three villages lived on foundry and bolt manufacturing. Chateau-Regnault was the seat of a medieval fortress destroyed on Louis XIV's orders in 1689.
Story
The four rocks above the village are called the Quatre Fils Aymon, after the chanson de geste hero brothers who, according to local legend, fled King Charlemagne on their horse Bayard along the Meuse.
