Full-service marina on the west bank of the lower Niantic River at East Lyme, Connecticut, at the head of Niantic Bay.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Enter the Niantic River from the bay through the federal channel, 8 ft deep and 100 ft wide, then under the Amtrak bascule railroad bridge at 17 ft closed clearance and the Route 156 highway bridge at 32 ft. The current runs hard in the inlet, so transit at slack water. Hold the marked channel inside the river, which is bordered by shallow mud flats.
Practical
Around 81 berths with three kept for visitors, plus dry racks with free valet launching and winter storage. There is a fuel berth with petrol and diesel, a pump-out, water, 30 and 50 amp shore power, WiFi, showers, heads, and a covered grilling area.
Ashore
Downtown East Lyme is within walking distance, with Main Street shops and restaurants. The Niantic Bay Boardwalk runs 1.1 miles along the shore, and McCook Point Park has a sandy beach and a playground.
