Small marina on Mago Point, on the east bank of the lower Niantic River at Waterford, Connecticut.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Reached from Niantic Bay through the Niantic River entrance channel, 8 ft deep, passing under the Amtrak bascule railroad bridge at 17 ft closed clearance and the Route 156 highway bridge at 32 ft. The current runs strong in the inlet, so time the transit for slack water. The marina sits on the east bank just past the bridges.
Practical
About 52 berths for boats up to 38 ft, plus a launching ramp. Several marine businesses share Mago Point, so fuel and a pump-out are available close by at neighbouring yards.
