Guide
Approach and anchoring
Reached from Niantic Bay through the Niantic River channel, 8 ft deep, passing under the Amtrak bascule railroad bridge at 17 ft closed clearance and the Route 156 highway bridge at 32 ft. The current runs strong in the inlet, so transit at slack water and keep to the marked channel inside the river.
Practical
Berths for boats of all sizes including visitor berths, with a fuel berth and a pump-out. There is a tackle shop on site and boat rentals are available. The river holds striped bass, bluefish and flounder.
Ashore
Downtown East Lyme and the shops and restaurants of Main Street are within walking distance, along with the Niantic Bay Boardwalk and McCook Point Park.
