Approach and anchoring
Access via the Étang de Berre, a large brackish lagoon linked to the Mediterranean by the Caronte canal at Martigues. Maximum draught 1.2 metres at the pontoon. Exposed to mistral blowing from the north-west across the open lagoon, with short steep chop building in strong wind.
Practical
Very limited infrastructure given two berths only. Village of Saint-Chamas within walking distance for basic shopping. For fuel and full services, head to Port-de-Bouc or Martigues.
