Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south, keeping clear of swimmer zones marked by yellow buoys in summer. Anchor on sand in 3 to 6 metres. Sheltered from NW through N to NE and from the W and E, exposed to southerlies.
Practical
No facilities on the beach. Port Auguier lies 0.1 nautical miles to the SE for a quick tender landing. Port du Niel, a small fishing port, is 0.8 nautical miles to the NW.
Ashore
The Giens peninsula is a double tombolo. The salt marshes of the Salins des Pesquiers, a classified nature site with flamingos, are accessible by a coastal path from Port du Niel. The boat shuttle to Porquerolles leaves from La Tour Fondue, 2 km east by road.
