Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the Petite Passe between Porquerolles and the Giens peninsula. The bay lies on the north coast of the island, open from NE through SW. Anchoring on Posidonia seagrass is banned across the whole Parc national; mooring on the buoys is compulsory. Book buoys on the Bonne Ancre platform. VHF 9.

31 buoys on sand managed by the Parc national de Port-Cros. Water on the village quay. Showers, toilets and shops in the village at 0.1 nm NE. Fuel at Port d'Hyères on the mainland.
Ashore
Porquerolles village square at 300 m from the quay, market, bakery, two grocery shops. Plage Notre-Dame at 2 km on foot or by bike, sand beach rated among the top ranked in Europe by the European Best Destinations survey in 2015. Fort Sainte-Agathe, 16th century tower overlooking the village, houses the park museum.
History
The island was bought in 1912 by François-Joseph Fournier, a Belgian engineer who made his fortune in Mexican gold mines, as a wedding present for his wife. The state acquired 80 percent of the island in 1971, creating the Parc national de Port-Cros.
Story
The Domaine de la Courtade and Domaine Perzinsky produce Côtes de Provence AOC wine from vineyards planted on sandy soils right across the island.
