Guide
Approach and anchoring
Enter through the jettied inlet on the north shore, then carry on into the harbour, which is enclosed on all quarters. Anchoring space is limited at the eastern end of the harbour and the holding is reported unreliable, so make sure the anchor is well set. A mooring field controlled by the Town of Brookhaven can take up to 500 boats.
Practical
Fresh water available ashore. Old Man's Boat Yard lies 0.6 mile west and Mt Sinai Yacht Club 0.7 mile west, both taking transient visitors.
Ashore
Cedar Beach borders the harbour on the Long Island Sound side, a sand beach within reach by tender.
