Guide
Approach and anchoring
Little Harbor opens on the south-western, ocean-facing coast of Catalina Island. A reef extends from the west side across the entrance, so anchoring inside the harbour is not permitted. Approach with care and pick up a mooring buoy. Los Angeles Yacht Club lies 22 miles to the north-east on the mainland.
Practical
Sand bottom. The cove is sheltered from north-west through south-east but lies open to the ocean swell from the south-west. Fresh water is available ashore.
Ashore
A campground above the beach has showers, toilets, fire rings and piped water. Hiking trails run inland from the cove across the island interior.
