Guide
Approach and anchoring
The cove takes a single hook or bow-and-stern moors in sand, with room for six to eight boats inshore and more on a single anchor further out. There are no mooring buoys. Shelter is from the south, with some cover from the west and exposure to the north and east.
Practical
A free anchorage with no facilities. The nearest services are at Two Harbors a short run to the west. Los Angeles Yacht Club lies 19 nautical miles to the north-east on the mainland.
Ashore
Ripper's Cove has a reef off its rocky points used for snorkelling and a sandy beach. The cove holds three primitive boat-in campsites run by the Catalina Island Company, with the eastern site set on the best of the beaches.
