Approach and anchoring
Sand bottom. Strong tidal streams off the Rance estuary mouth, up to 3 knots. Shelter from NW, W, SW and S winds, open to N and E. Watch the rocks off the Île du Perron and the plateau des Bunets to the west. Port de Saint-Briac 0.8 NM N for a full-tide refuge.
Practical
Visitor buoys operated seasonally by the commune. No fuel, no water on the buoys themselves. Landing by tender on the slipway at Saint-Briac or on the beach at low water. Port du Châtelet 1.9 NM SW for the next harbour.
Ashore
Saint-Briac is a seaside village of about 2 000 inhabitants with shops and restaurants along the rue de la Mairie, 600 m inland. The sentier des douaniers GR 34 runs along the cliffs from Longchamp beach towards the pointe de la Garde Guérin, about 2 km east. Émile Bernard and Paul Signac painted here in the 1880s.
