Approach and anchoring
Enter via the Passe de l'Ouest of the Rade de Lorient. Sand bottom, good holding. 6 organised berths. Shelter from NW to W, open to E and SE. Watch for the ferry route between Port-Louis and Locmiquélic crossing the rade.
Practical
Ban-Gâvres harbour with slipway and water is 0.6 NM N, Port-Louis marina 1.2 NM N with diesel, water and visitor berths.
Ashore
GR 34 coastal path runs through the village. Plage de Goerem on the Atlantic side, 400 m across the isthmus. Citadelle de Port-Louis built 1591 to 1637 and Musée de la Compagnie des Indes in Port-Louis, 1.2 NM N.
