Anchorage off Le Fret on the east side of the Crozon peninsula, in the Rade de Brest, Finistère. Sand, rock and mud bottom.

Approach and anchoring
Approach from the Rade de Brest, clear of the Roscanvel shoals to the north. Holding varies with patches of rock between sand. Protected from NW through S to SE but fully open to the east wind and to the north-east fetch across the Rade. VHF 9 for nearby Camaret ports.
Practical
Forain anchorage with no marina services on site. Le Fret village has a small quay used by the Brest-Le Fret passenger shuttle, a bakery and a few cafes. Camaret-sur-Mer harbours, Bassin du Nautique and Port Vauban, are 3.6 nm west and offer fuel, water and repairs.
Ashore
GR34 coastal path runs along the shore and links Le Fret to the Pointe des Espagnols in about 6 km north. Small beach of Trez-Rouz 2 km west by road. Memorial Museum of the Atlantic Battle at the Pointe des Espagnols 7 km by road.
