Approach and anchoring
Enter the rade de Brest through the goulet and head SE. Sand and mud bottom, good holding. Sheltered from SE through S to SW, exposed to N and NE winds sweeping across the rade. Strong tidal streams in the goulet, plan passage near slack water.
Practical
No pontoon for visitors. Ferry landing for the Brest-Lanvéoc line operated by Le Brestoâ. Village shops and bakery within 500 m of the quay.
Ashore
Coastal path toward Rostellec and the Île Longue viewpoint. Morgat marina 4.5 NM S for full services. Brest Marina du Château 5.2 NM N across the rade.
History
Lanvéoc hosts the French Naval Academy (École navale) since 1965, on the plateau west of the village. The site trains officers of the Marine nationale.
